Band of the Day

Savor the sounds of Afro-Caribbean music bursting with a jazzy soul flavor
There will be no happily ever after. No kiss, no "Chérie je t’aime" forever.
lyrics from My Prince

Four years ago, Myra-Maud, a Parisian singer with roots in the Caribbean and Madagascar, met Lutz "Hammond" Krajenski, a keyboardist and arranger from Hanover, Germany (not quite the Caribbean). And so the story of Salt begins...

The band Salt combines a unique blend of jazz, Afro-Caribbean music, and elements originating from the Indian Ocean. Their music is sung in French, Creole and English.

This broad range of sounds is what sets this group apart, and makes them appeal to everyone from the casual listener to the jazz lover.

It's music between seashore and jazz club atmospheres, between the metropolis and the lonely islands. It's music that carries us far, far away from the here and now.

Salt are: Myra Maud (vocals) and Lutz Krajenski (keyboards)

The bands is rounded out by: Philipp Kazca (trumpet), Stephan Abel (saxophone, flute, guitar), Olaf Casimir (bass), Nené Vasquez (percussions), and Simon Gattringer (drums).
