Band of the Day

A collision between the cold, abrupt universe of electro and the softness of pop melodies
It's not too late to be a child, 'cause you're fading away.
lyrics from Right Now

Brussels’ sexy duo par excellence David and Charlotte from SOLDOUT are back to business with their new album "MORE."

“MORE” is the band’s third studio album after the initial electro pop album “Stop Talking” (2004) and the more radical and experimental “Cuts” (2008).

They could only be looking back ten years ago and their first official release and dreaming to be where they are right now in Europe. Their French sensualism wrapped with a fearless all-in retro electro-clash sound made 2013 the year of SOLDOUT on the home arenas, with their singles "94", "Wazabi", the album "More" and getting booked in for i.e. supporting act slots for their heroes and friends Front 242 (Richard 23 worked with SOLDOUT on their latest album).

From the onset, Charlotte and David explored, with passion, the possibilities offered by electronic music. Their music is a collision between the cold and abrupt universe of electro and the softness of pop melodies. With a resolute contemporary vibe, they bring together the sounds of the 80’s (Cabaret Voltaire, Depeche Mode, Front 242) and those of bands like The Knife, Grimes, The XX or the lighter touch of Metronomy.

The new songs are in sync with the electronic pop of their previous work, with confidence, easiness and simplicity and indicate the direction of a more melodic and mature album, with a sound that is more and more defined and is becoming an own identity.
