Starlight Girls

A swirling fun house of buzzing, honeyed retro noir pop from Brooklyn, NY
Now, even in my dreams I've played the fool.
lyrics from Wasteland

Brooklyn-based genre-undefining hyper weirdos making music to swim dangerously to. While drawing from eclectic influences that reflect the varied musical background of the five members, the band is always playing the perfect soundtrack for surfer spies who like to rock out.

The band has toured America multiple times and a 20-date March tour has been announced. Reflecting a unique sound that pairs musically with bands across a wide spectrum, Starlight Girls have previously shared the stage with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, St. Lucia, Tilly and the Wall, and Kate Nash. Starlight Girls collaborated on a 7” with Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu which SPIN declared “Undeniably Luminous.” The band has also been featured in Billboard Magazine, Noisey, Wild Honey Pie, VICE, Daytrotter and more.

In the Spring of 2012, Starlight Girls released their five track self-titled EP, which included the single "Flutterby."

Starlight Girls recently collaborated with Xiu Xiu frontman Jamie Stewart to make a brand new 7" that was released in October of 2013. It was mixed by Mat Leffler-Schulman at Mobtown Studios, Maryland; mastered by Taylor Bray at Maple Studios, Nashville; with album artwork by Hannah Macdonald and Olivia Russin.

A significant departure and natural progression for a band unhindered by the confines of genre, the 7" is a tasty treat to hold the hungry children over until the 2014 release of the full-length LP.
