Bat For Lashes

Alluring, spectral tunes from a British singer/multi-instrumentalist
And when the fires came, the smell of cinders and rain perfumed almost everything. We laughed and laughed and laughed.
lyrics from Daniel

Bat for Lashes is the work of British singer/ songwriter, multi- instrumentalist and visual artist Natasha Khan. Born in 1979, yet combining influences that span decades, Natasha’s work dwells in the elemental, emerging in timeless forms. She's released her highly-anticipated third album, The Haunted Man, on October 22, 2012 in the U.S. via EMI’s Capitol Records.

The striking album artwork for The Haunted Man has also been revealed. Shot by the revered photographer Ryan McGinley, known for his naturalistic imagery, Natasha appears naked and carrying a man around her shoulders.

Bat For Lashes first captured hearts back in 2006, and has since then been nominated for two Mercury Music Prizes (2006’s Fur and Gold and 2009’s Two Suns), toured with Coldplay in 2010, collaborated with Beck to write a song for the Twilight film, Eclipse, headlined two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House in June 2011 and covered Depeche Mode’s “Strangelove” for Gucci’s Guilty campaign, released on limited release on 7” vinyl for this year’s Record Store Day.
