Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Magnolia Sons are a 12-piece supergroup founded on a collective love of nostalgic rock and soul sounds from the 1960’s and 1970’s. The group was created by songwriters Austin Aguirre and Benjamin A. Harper, in late 2004, originally under the name Tuesday’s Debut.
Before relocating to Nashville, and expanding to twelve members, Magnolia Sons were in Lake Charles, Louisiana and started out as a four piece. In early 2005, the band began writing original material and went on to release a full-length album called An Hour In The Air.
Over the next few years, Magnolia Sons began adding more members, releasing a number of EPs, and performing hundreds of shows across the United States. In 2011, Magnolia Sons released a five-song mini album entitled Free, which included retro pop songs like “The Magic Man” and “Pass On My Love.” 2012 sees the release of the “How Can I Get Over You?” / “Leave Your Troubles Behind” single, influenced by upbeat, vintage soul sounds. Magnolia Sons, which also includes an all-girl backup group and full horn section, are currently touring primarily around the southeastern part of the United States.
